WORKSHOP
In this mindful Japanese calligraphy workshop, you will practice the basic techniques of SHODO(Japanese calligraphy) and a kanji character of your choice. You will be creating your own unique calligraphy artworks such as KAKEJIKU hanging scroll and SHIKISHI board by the end of the session.
Our aim is for you to discover inner peace and strength through Japanese calligraphy and to bring that same mindfulness to all aspects of your daily life.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & PRACTICE
For example,
-History of shodo(calligraphy)
-Basic use of unique tools of shodo
(Fude brush, Suzuri inkstone, Sumi ink, and Washi paper.)
-Posture and ritual of shodo
-How to meditate through shodo
-Practice fundamental calligraphy writing techniques
-Japanese writing system
-Practice kanji characters and your name in Japanese katakana alphabet
-Create a final piece on a card to take home
-Stamp a red seal with a Japanese phenetic initial of your first name to complete your calligraphy artwork.
