HOW TO ORDER 

1. SEND ENQUIRY FORM  

Tell us your idea and requirements using the enquiry form below, including any images of how you would like the work to look (such as strength and thickness of the lines, strong, energetic, smooth, soft etc.) as much as possible, the context in which you will use the art, deadline, your budget and whether having special meanings for the context. Please tell as much detail as possible as this will give us the inspiration for your unique and special design.

2. CONSULTATION

We will look at your ideas, and generate some thoughts as to how we can help you. We will email you including several suggestions and also some price guidelines and timescales for completion of your design. We usually dispatch the artwork in a few days to a couple of months .

Our aim is to please you, and in order to make your design as perfect as possible, we may consult with you several times usually via emails to avoid any confusions during this process until we fully understand the image you have in mind. Once we have agreed on the final design, price and timescale, we will issue an invoice.

3. PAYMENT

Please make a payment via bank transfer. We will ask for the full amount upfront. 

Please note that we will not re-design except for in exceptional circumstances, however re-designing is available with additional fees.

4. DELIVERY OF ARTWORK

After confirming receipt of your deposit, we will start making the artwork and deliver to you within the agreed timescale.

ABOUT ARTWORK

Please note that Japanese Calligraphy is a personal and spiritual art form. The work is completed in one moment and is thus sensitive to the many factors that differ from moment to moment. That moment, once passed, cannot be recreated again in the same way. While a graphic designer or painter would simply be able to adjust small details, that is not possible for the Japanese calligrapher. For the calligrapher, it can take over a hundred attempts just to create one work.

We would ask therefore that as much information as possible on what type/s of calligraphy is given before requesting a calligraphy work. During the process, we may need contact you to ask more clarification via whatsapp/email so we can fulfil the criteria requested in the best possible way.
